It was only a week ago we reported on Rotting Flesh Radio (Click Here to Read the Initial Announcement), that the Ashland, Oregon Halloween Parade was being cancelled and more family friendly fare was to be added instead. This was trick or treating, photo ops and more.

Well, after the Ashland community has spoken out to the Chamber, it seems that it was announced that the Halloween Parade once again WILL BE happening through the downtown.

So it seems that people in today’s society do care about Halloween and annual traditions. This speaks volumes to the holiday of Halloween. The Children and Parents of Ashland were saddened by the announcement of the parade cancellation and showed it in the form of phone calls, letter and stopping by the Chamber.

“We were surprised to find out how many people loved the parade, especially how many children loved it,” Slattery said. “We thought ‘well, let’s sit down and see what we can do.’”

The Chamber will begin talking about how to handle the parade this week and prepare once again for the Annual Halloween Parade to take place and bring smiles to the Ashland Community once again. The chamber has misjudged how much people loved this tradition, but also wants to re-work the logistics to make room for the bands, photo ops and other items they initially announced for the non-parade Halloween events.

I think this could end up making the entire Halloween event very big and will prove to be an improvement hidden in this mess for the Ashland area. In the end we are happy to hear the parade is continuing and Halloween will once again be an event for all to enjoy.
