Dudley Group of Hospitals Charity

In the Haunt Industry there are many charity events, Jaycees, Boys and Girls Clubs and so on. Rotting Flesh Radio even has our own charity in Costumes For Kids. Charity is a big thing to us here at RFR. It is our job to give back to the community, the families and haunters who support us as well as just doing what is right. This brings us to a new charity event taking place and looking for your support…The Sponsored Scare 2011 (www.JustGiving.com/SponsoredScare)!

The Sponsored Scare is an event where 4 individuals are spending the night in a haunted hotel to raise money for the Children’s Ward in Russell’s Hall Hospital, Dudley, West Midlands.

The night of the scare is going to be Saturday, the 12th of November 2011 and is to be held at the notorious ‘Station Hotel’, Castle Hill Dudley.

The four of individuals, along with a local medium will have full access to the ground floor of the hotel and possibly the cellar to investigate the alleged haunting! The base in the hotel will be room 214 – allegedly the most active room in the building! This room was featured on ‘Most Haunted’ a few years ago, and the team actually collected video taped evidence of poltergeist activity in this room (chairs being moved). The team will post all the findings and photos etc. that they catch.

Now the team doing this for charity was arranged by Becky Hill – married Mom of 2, enjoys cooking, reading, tattoos and all thing dark!

“I decided to organise this little jaunt after both of my sons have had brief stays on the Children’s Ward at Russell’s Hall Hospital. Fortunately, both my sons aliments were minor, but a lot of parents are not so lucky. The staff at the hospital are awesome and work so hard to make a difficult time less stressful for both the child and family alike. I thought it would be cool if we could show our appreciation to such a good team.”

The other team members are:
Lisa Watson – Mom to many animals. Married to Drew! Pre-occupied with pink, animals, crafts and white chocolate…and rose wine.

Drew Watson – married to our lovely Lisa and Daddy to their menagerie of animals: Beesie and monty the dogs, Sox and Chloe the cats, Russel and Kitty the ferrets and Archie, Drew’s faithful hoss!

Carrie Mackenzie – carrie lives in Redditch and is married to Rod and works as a Credit Controller for a law firm in Birmingham. Her interests include complicated cooking, reading, movies and being an athiest! She is a complete non-believer when it comes to matters of the supernatural!

There will also be a medium there. Dave J Williams. Dave has made several TV and radio ‘appearances’ including ‘Living TV’s Ghost Adventures’ at The Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, ‘Tony Stockwells Psychic Academy’ and a Cahnnel 4 documentary on exorcism.
